Today started slow, we skipped breakfast and left late for lunch. P took us to a little Korean area at Tottenham Court Road. They have a Korean super and a couple of restaurants. We chose a fusion place called Seoul Bakery, it was a fusion of a restaurant and a hair salon. It seemed to be popular, they didn't have many seats, and we had to wait for a table. We had 순두부찌개, 치즈김밥, 라볶이 and 치킨치즈비빔밥. Good stuff.
After lunch we went to a bookstore around the corner called Foyle's, but didn't buy anything. After that we went for a stroll. Gayoung got some tea, I bought a London post card, and we went to HMV. They had some good deals, I think it's mostly Mängelexemplare, but we all found something. I got a Bradbury, Oyster Boy, a Eugenides and a book about Banksy.
I felt like either fresh air or a cup of coffee, so we walked around a bit and found a coffee shop called Carluccio. P was doubting that the waiters were from Italy, but they sure had an Italian accent. We had some strong coffee and a super sweet dessert. Before we left, I went to the restroom and when I came back the place was filled with Asians. Very strange.
After that we walked to Oxford Circus station and headed home. In Brixton we got some groceries and Gayoung got some other stuff to take back home. It was both our last nights, and her train was to leave at five in the morning. Back home P got a call cab for the right time and prepared dinner. I had the first pie in my life, it was filled with beef, I think, and it was really good. It's crazy, I never realized how much tasteful stuff you can do with an oven.
We spent the rest of the evening talking and not talking. And it's true what they say. Time that you spend with real friends is precious, whether you talk or not. We also watched the end of Alice in Wonderland, and I think P memorized the full choreography of Samba de Janeiro. Then he went to bed. Gayoung and I spent some more time in the living room, before sleep took me down, too.
At around four, Patrick woke me up. I went downstairs and Gayoung was wide awake and completely set to leave. Crazy girl. We said our good-byes, and slowly walked her out to the streets. And then we saw her drive off in the cab, turning left at the corner. '잘 가겠지?' one of us said and we returned to the house. P went back to sleep because he had to get up for work in a few hours, I went back to sleep because it was four in the morning. And Gayoung was gone.
