Intro

Another year, another intro. It's already the third one that I'm writing, which means that I've actually managed to keep this journal alive for two years. January first, what a meaningful day. When actually every single day is a chance to do something right, or to start something new. Still, it sounds promising. Sure I have thought about resolutions, but last year has shown that I'm not too good with those.

For example, drinking half a litre of water every day. Didn't work out. I tried, I really did, but before long I stopped thinking about it and the idea dried out before it became a daily routine. Another example, getting up every day before nine o'clock. Well, sometimes I open my eyes and it's ten. I find it hard to fight sleepiness. I wish I were one of those people who can just get up once they're awake.

So instead of making new resolutions I've told myself to try once more what I haven't accomplished last year. And in addition to that Sumin and I have decided to try and leave the city once a month. Leaving Korea is a bit of a stretch, so we've settled on leaving at least the metropolitan area. It sounds like no big deal, but believe me, once you live in Seoul it's hard to escape its debilitating machinery.

For some reason I'm not as excited about the new year's grand opening as I was last year. I wonder why that is. Perhaps it's because last year I knew that I was going to graduate and move here. Different to now I had an achievable goal in the foreseeable future, something specific to look forward to. My life in Seoul, that is. And I am happy to be here. I enjoy every moment, doing what I'm doing.

Let me quickly say thank you to everyone who is reading this, especially my friends and family who are scattered all over the globe. I really appreciate all your support. I don't say this enough, but it's important to me that you know this. Also, everyone who has left a comment for me to read. It's exciting to receive feedback, so please continue to leave a word every now and then.

Thank you!

Intro

It's the first day of the year, again. And I'm glad you came back. Or maybe you didn't, and this is your first visit here. Either way I'm super thankful for anybody who's reading this right now. The first year has passed already and I must say, it's been a great twelve months. With all the travels and thoughts there's a lot to look back on. Honestly, I'm really glad to have these archives full of posts, one for each day.

For this following year I'd like to make a few changes. Udpates, if you like. Frankly, I haven't entirely made up my mind about what exactly those changes will be, but one thing is for sure: there's going to be photographs. Like I said, I haven't decided anything specific yet, for example whether it's gonna be singles or sets, or even collages. All I can say at this point is that I'd humbly like to post some pictures.

For my jottings I'd like to try a new category as well. Because sometimes, when typing out some thoughts, the contents are asking for a somewhat more elaborate way of writing. In some cases so much so that I feel the need to put the whole thing in a third person narrative, make up a protagonist and jazz up his character. Again, I don't know what the label for this category will be, but let's just see and find out.

Anyway. Thanks for being here, reading this, and I hope to see you again soon. Oh and,

Happy New Year.

Intro

It's the first day of the year and one of my resolutions for 2011 was to start this blog. And here we are.

I realize, I'm typing this in English and, I'm actually not sure why that is. I thought I would naturally write in German, but thinking about blogs sort of makes me think in English, I guess. Although I might switch to German or, who knows, maybe even Korean later on.

About the contents, I frankly have no idea yet. But a couple of months ago a good of mine, Johnny , spread the word about a great project of a friend of his. It was about sharing childhood memories within 500 words. I tried to make a contribution, too, and it made me remember long forgotten stuff and really got me working.

Another thing that moved me to do this, was a blog of a very close friend of mine who goes by the name of 'The one and only Ee'. She started an amazing writing project which you should definitely check out.

Basically, I'd like to use this thing here as a platform to collect inspiring stuff, to shout out thoughts and to share them with my friends. Also I'd like to start my own project, one that I've been carrying around in my head for quite a while now, but let's take it easy on that and see how things go.

So this is my first post and I'm very excited about it, and not really sure what to do next.

Happy New Year
