Home - Day 8

The fourty minute train ride from our home town to the great city of Bonn always fills me with excitement. For the longest time I kind of didn't like it, but now I really enjoy it. The coffee to go, the snack in the bag, the book, the pen, the notepad. The best part of the ride is the first couple of stops. The train leaves the industrial part of town and dives into a sunny panorama world of fields and trees.

Okay, in reality it's not that great, but it is kinda nice. Today I went to Bonn to meet old Reggie. My paper cup was half full and Herbie Hancock was playing the Watermelon Man when my phone shook the inside of my jacket pocket. It was Simon and he was on his way down from the Hardtberg to the main station. That's odd, I thought. How did he know? Amazing how that works sometimes.

He lives in Cologne now and I hadn't told him anything about my plans today. We both studied in Bonn, that's why the odds are not crazy insane, but still, I think it's quite a coincidence. So we met up at the bus terminal and talked to Reggie on the phone. Simon and I got to know her seperately and I remember we were both surprised about each other's connection. We met her at Café Göttlich.

We took a table outside and let our talk and our thoughts float up into the limitless sky. As the sun slowly set the temperatures declined. Simon soon had to take off and Reggie and I decided to go for another cup of coffee. This time we talked about more serious things, and also about travelling. Man, seeing Reggie is always a boost of creative energy. And I realised that it's already been a year since I visitied BKK.
