Until a few years ago there used to be a skate shop in Dongdaemun, right underneath the Cult. It was called Woo Hoo Chung San, which means something like Sunshine in the Mountains after the Rain, and it was the first adress that I found when I came to Korea and searched the internet for stores. I became good friends with the staff and the owner, who always hooked me up with new gear when I needed something. I didn't have to worry about a thing, always had a tight board, a fresh pair of shoes. Good times.
When I woke up today I felt like shit in the morning. I sat up in my bed, took a look at the mess that was my room and decided to send some stuff away. I packed my bags and walked them up to the post office near the station. I purchased two cartons, a big one and a slightly bigger one, and started to fill them up with the stuff in my bags. And while I was doing so I thought that I was kind of getting good at this. If there was a job that involved folding and organizing stuff, packing and repacking, I would be the perfect guy for it.
On my way home I finally used one of my One Tree Hill stamp cards and got a free coffee. I left my bags at home and took a bus to Hongdae to get my hair cut. While I was waiting for my turn I got a message from Kwang hyung. He said that the people from the shooting wanted us at their head quarter office for a meeting. I kindly asked the lady with the belt full of scissors and blades to hurry up and rushed over to Gangnam. The meeting was brief, but at the end we walked out with our bags full of new stuff. I quickly said hello to Giwoun hyung and we were on our way again.
We took a bus to Dongdaemun and I knew that this was going to be my last skate day for this trip. It was a super fun session and at the end I realized how much I want to stay here. We met Seungwook at Shindorim Station and took a train down to Bucheon. We had some trouble finding the place, but we finally made it to Woochuli hyung, owner of the Woo Hoo Chung San skateshop. I haven't seen him in years, but he was still the same guy. He had tried this and that and has now settled for a BBQ place. It was an amazing evening, it felt like a family reunion and brought back many stories and long forgotten memories.
