Seoul - Day 16

Today I tried a new coffee shop nearby. It's called Café Rio and it's less than half a year old. It was only a construction site when I was last here, so it can't be older than a couple of months. The shop has a tall glass facade that lets all the sunlight in. They serve different variations of coffee and a few light snacks. Today I tried a moisty piece of Cheesecake and combined it with a nice strong Americano. They play different types of music, nothing I couldn't cope with, and except for the ugly brown seat covers I kind of like the place.

In the afternoon I met my friend Haneul for chats and dinner. We had Kongbul, which is short for kongnamul bulgogi, which is something like soya bean sprout beef goodness, and emptied a bottle of soju together. It was my first soju on this trip and it was actually not that bad. I usually don't like it because it tastes like pure alcohol, but today it worked pretty well with the zesty food. After the meal we met up with another friend and took a bus to Apgujeong where Seungwook, Seok hyung, Phil and the whole crew was waiting.

I don't remember the name of the place, but I know that they had a wall full of tall fridges that contained a million bottles of beer. They had all kinds of brands, even a few German ones, and the price was really modest. I guess, since you have to get up and grab the beers yourself, they don't charge you for any service fees. It's a fine place. It's moderately furnished and the side dishes are pricy, but when you're there with a superb group of people good times are guaranteed. And tonight was just amazing.
