So, more than two weeks of my little Seoul trip are gone. Two weeks full of joyful events and a lot, really, a lot of rain. It's been pouring down for hours, for days even, and streets have been flooded, buildings collapsed, cars have been swept away. There was so much rain that I was massively limited in possible things to do. And yet, I got the feeling that time here seems to be running a bit faster than back at home. It's like Germany is running on thirty-three rpm while Korea is set on fourty-five.
It's crazy to meet so many friends and also to get to know so many new people. It takes my mind off of the heavy thoughts that are camping inside my head. Even with all the rain, I honestly don't mind it too much. Sure, it sucks to be unable to skate, but there're so many other things to do here, that I don't even feel like missing out. I still meet the skaters and chill, I still get together with my kyopo friends and hang out. If anything, I feel like I'm running out of time.
Like I said, it feels like the record is spinning faster over here. Today I met my old friend Mikyung for dinner. We first met about five years ago and instantly found something funny about each other. We became good friends over the years and share many little stories by now. We don't keep in touch all the time, but whenever the other's name pops up we leave a little message, just to ask what's up. We went to a barbeque place close to Yangje Station and chatted like an elderly couple over marinated beef and cider.
