Seoul - Day 2

Second day of the trip, first day back in Seoul. The flight was alright, I got an ok seat and after a salty snack I picked the beef and watched a film. Then I took a nap, although I didn't get too much sleep. Later I watched another movie and tried to sleep some more, but all I did was hurt my neck. For breakfast they served a cheesy omelette, a bit too heavy for my taste, but it was pretty good with coffee. The plane landed smoothely and I entered the country no problem.

First thing to do was ring up Phil. My phone worked fine and we said we'd meet up in a bit. I got on one of the limousine buses, and it took me to the city. And it's really hard to describe what that was like. Driving along Han river, seeing old 63 Building, crossing one of the huge bridges into the city - it felt like coming home. I was here till last November and it feels like I haven't seen this place in a million years. I wish I could show my friends from back home.

I got off in Shinsa-dong and Phil picked me up, so good to see his old face. His friend Ryan was driving the car and little Luke was sitting in the back. Together we headed to Cartel to say hi to Queezy hyung. He was busy working, but we still got to chat a little. Then, after a little lunch break, we drove to the Stunt B headquarters and met up with Baek, the Chief. We had a drink and watched a freshly edited video montage. After that we quickly dropped my bags off at Phil's place in Apgujeong.

I quickly washed up and we went to Jamsil and met Julio from Barcelona. Phil had been hooked up with a couple of free tickets for Lotte World. Frankly, it was a little weird to visit a neat amusement park with only four guys. But then, why not. Hanging out with the guys is always fun, no matter where. And it turned out to be a hilarious evening. We had four free rides and picked Sindbad, Gyro Drop, Gyro Swing and Viking, before we went bowling and had some beer.

This afternoon Wonseok hyung arrived from New York. He's originally from Seoul and for him it's really returning home. He's gonna stay for about a month and I'm glad that we're both here at the same time. After bowling we took a cab to Shincheon, where Kwang hyung was already waiting for us. So great to see them, too. Always in a good mood, always supportive. Then Phil got a phone call and unfortunately had to take off for a bit.

So it was Kwang hyung, his girlfriend Mai Song, Wonseok hyung and me. We went to a Japanese place and ordered drinks and some food. We talked about life in New York, life in Germany and life in Seoul. We agreed that life in general was pretty good. It was great to listen to their stories and to reflect on my own. Sharing experience and opinions definitely puts things in a new perspective. Thoughts are being rethought and I think that's a great way to find some balance.
