Albert Einstein lived from 1879 to 1955. He was born in Germany and fled the Nazis in 1933. He moved to the US and never went back. He's got a famous equation and his face has become an absurd icon. There are many books about his work, but this one here is a record of conversations with his maid. It proves that the genius was actually a regular person.
Friedrich Herneck was a German historian. He studied and taught at several universities all over the country for his entire life. In between, he wrote a number of books including this one right here. It got published and someone in Berlin bought it, read it, and left it for grabs in a box on the side of the street. That's where I found it.
