Our flight was early in the morning, too early to say goodbye to anybody. We silently left our keys on the table in our rented room and took off. At Berlin Schönefeld we saw the sun come up through the window from our limited seating on easyjet's EZFF, and two hours later we found ourselves in the south of France, the Cote d'Azur between Monaco and Cannes.
This place, where rich people grow old between tans and titties, has a lot to offer. The mediterranian climate, for example, is like soul food for your mind, a welcome change from the big city air of Seoul. We had lunch near a small harbour, pasta and drinks, and observed the passers-by who were greated as if they were regulars. Only few took a seat and ordered.
There was a fat, sunglassed couple with a thick American accent. They ordered not à la carte but by gusto. Can you make me a bacon tomato omelette and a sandwich with cucumber and brie cheese? Do you have brie cheese? (louder) Brrrieeee cheeese and a little, you know (she made a seasoning hand gesture), a little ah, you know, some of that on top. And a coke.
The waiter smiled, and walked away. That's when I realized I could never do the job he's doing. Sumin and I talked about work, our jobs, and how we're planing to go on. I think I talked more than she did. For dessert we walked back to the hotel. In the afternoon, we tried the beach. Pebble stones everywhere, with a mat and a towel it's almost comfortable.
