When I was a young teenager I had a best friend. He used to skate and was into jazz music a lot. For the longest time we would hang out every single day. In the basement of their house he had a drum set. He played in a big band and took it quite seriously. Naturally I got interested too, until one day he told me he was seeing the girl that I was fancying back then. That's when a lot of things changed for me, one of them that I never listened to any jazz after that. It took many years, lots of growing up and a birthday gift a few years ago to recover, but I'm over it now. I've redevelop a certain liking for it. Here's my top five jazz albums.
1. Paul Desmont - Take Ten
2. Larry Young - Groove Street
3. John Coltrane - Lush Life
4. Thelonious Monk - Monk's Dream
5. Miles Davis - Kind of Blue
