Today we were supposed to do a hopping tour, which for me was the most exciting part of the program. In the morning we all met in the lobby after breakfast and our guide told us that due to tidal conditions we'd have to cancel the day's plan. Great. In exchange, he said, we could choose from different offers that were either boring and for free or interesting and super expensive.
What was certain was, that we had to check out of our room by noon, so a decision had to be made quick. Sumin and I talked it over and agreed on the fact that all the given options sucked. We talked to our guide and told him that we'd like to see a beach and just hang out. He told us that most beaches were privat-owned and there was nothing he could do.
After a while he gathered a few members of the group together and told us that there was a secret option. We mustn't tell anybody about it, but we could check into cheap hotel and use their part of the beach. We silently agreed and left to see the sea. The other hotel was actually half bad and it had a beach. It was way cooler than ours. I mean, who needs a gym in the basement!
We changed into our beach holiday outfits and jumped down the stairs to feel tropic sand between our toes. Near the water they had white rattan relax capsules and marked ocean territory. It was perfect. It was exactly what was missing from our Cebu adventure. After a quick swim in the sea we felt all our joy credits restored. A cold beer from the bar put a cherry on top and I never wanted to leave.
