I've never done a package deal group trip before. Not that I was opposed to them, it just never came up until now. So this being our fist time I think we handled it quite well. Amongst other minor discomforts we discovered that there's a jam-packed schedule for every day. That's neither good nor bad, because it's part of the deal that we booked, but we did feel a bit chained.
We had decided to book a whole-day trip to Bohol, another big island that is near Cebu, which would include the famous Chocolate Hills, the Bifocal Monkeys and many other great adventures. This morning we drove to the port, and to our great surprise they didn't let us on bord. Our guide was holding all the responsibilty and for some cruel reason I enjoyed that a lot.
We were supposed to take the nine o'clock Maryland, but that never happened. Instead we spent two hours at the terminal not knowing what exactly was going on. After our boat left the dock Sumin and I kind of stopped caring, and that's when I realized how beautiful this morning was. I think that's one of those things a tight-scheduled vacation does to you, it prevents you from enjoying the trip.
It was twenty-something degrees and the friendly sun was shining through mostly broken windows. People were waiting with their eyebrows narrowed, their straw bags filled with live chicken and other noisy luggage. While everyone else grew antsy, the two of us enjoyed the delay. We walked around, played games and took photos. It was one of my favourite moments of the trip.
