The air is thick and tough to breathe, the heat feels tropical, almost hard to believe. The weather jumped from brisk and dry to warm and humid. Lucky for those who stayed at home today. Perhaps in an apartment with plank flooring in the bedroom, living room and kitchen. They could sit at the kitchen table, a small wooden one for two, look out the window and sip coffee while the sky grew darker by the minute.
For those who weren't as fortunate, who had errands to run, some kind of business outside, it wasn't as idyllic a phenomenon. Breathing in and breathing out slowly became hard work, every extra step felt like torture. Marching through an atmosphere as dense as today made people quickly reach their nervous limits. You could tell, by a simple look, that out there wandering were characters more explosive than the sky above.
And then it began. First with a few simple bangs, like shots from a pistole, or as if some of the people couldn't handle the pressure and blew up here and there. Then came the roaring thunder, a drum solo worth more than the average rock concert, louder than a bunch of lions in a bad mood. Suddenly the day grew darker, as if someone had his hands on an almighty dimmer. And then came the rain. Almost like a relief it began pouring.
