Another month has come to an end. But it's not just any month, because June marks the end of the first half of the year. Like those many foosball matches they played during the Euro Cup these past few weeks, this year's first fourty-five minutes are gone. But unlike the players, we don't get a break. For us there's no locker room, no coach who gives us a motivational speech.
Then again, this year is no game, no competition. If it were, who is it that we're playing? And, what's the score, who's winning? See, perhaps it's a worthless comparison after all. But that's not important. Not everything is about winning or loosing, about good or bad comparisons. What's more important is what we do with our time. Do we use it right? Half a year is a lot of chances.
This June brought many changes. I left London and came back home, to work on my final paper, to be with my family. Saying goodbye to my friends, especially P, wasn't easy, but I'm going to see them again soon. But saying goodbye to the city was hard. My humble little life in London. Gone. Who knows, though, perhaps one day I'll find my way back. And for now, I'm glad where I am today.
When I'm here, not every day is crazy exciting and I kind of like that. My brother is around a lot, which is a major relief, Tobs is around the corner and it's always great to have him around, Joseph and Mose deliver a lot of positive vibes these days, there's plenty of reasons to be thankful every morning. I'm blessed with so many inspiring people around me, believe me, each one is highly appreciated.
