These last few days I've been eating like a maniac. Perhaps it's the winter depression that my brother K declared for me the other day, and I'm trying to compensate my foul mood with fabulous food. It's odd, and I'm not too fond of the extra weight I've been putting on, but what can I say, it's tough to let go. For breakfast I eat one or two chocolate chunk cookies from the supermarket around the corner. They're baked in store and super mellow and just perfect.
Then, for lunch, I get a portion of soup at a coffee shop around the corner. They serve a different one every day and so far they've all been delicious. Three twenty for the soup plus thirty pence for a good piece of bread. That's not too bad, I think. And going out for lunch on a free day is a nice way to get started. After doing some reading and some typing after my meal, I usually go for a little walk. A short stroll through Camden is always refreshing.
Before dinner I tend to go out again, grocery shopping. My ordinary shopping list looks pretty much the same everyday: mixed ready-to-eat green salad, seasoned olives with roasted tomatoes, greek feta cheese, a bag of mixed nuts, spicy tikka chunks of chicken breast, and packed pineapple pieces for dessert. Sometimes I get yogurt instead of the salad stuff, but most of the time it's some sort of greens with some sort of chicken and some sort of dessert. Bon appetit.
