Alright, this book by Korean author 김영하 is intense. I've read it in Korean a long time ago and was surprised by the story and the way it was told. The contents and topics of this book are quite brave and, as far as I know, not of a usual calibre for Korea. The writing is not too wordy and well-paced. I've tried a few of the his short stories before and they were very much to my liking as well. This one right here I had to read in English for an essay, so I didn't so much enjoy it, I guess. But if you're interested in a fresh and modern Korean novel, you should definitely give it a try.
