September in the Rain

It barely rained this month, but today being the last day of September somehow made me sad. It was a great month though, a lot of good things happened. I came to London and found a nice place, worked at a great exhibition and became a student. It seems only a couple of days ago that I thought about the arrival of this month and now look at that, it's almost over. Well, at least I'm not alone in my melancholy. The Beatles have their September in the rain, of course, but also Dinah Washington sang a lovely song with the same title.

She also sang a great version of What a Difference a Day Makes and I agree with that, too. Twenty-four little hours. Some days it feels like two dozens is not enough. Yesterday, for example, I finally saw Jessi and Christian. They both arrived on Monday and we only managed to meet yesterday. It's a shame. They made it all the way to London, but there's so much uni stuff going on on my end, with appointments to make, lectures to attend and stuff I have to prepare, that I can't really clear a full day to just hang out with them.

Yesterday then, we met up at Leicester Square. We walked through Chinatown towards Soho and found a nice pub where we enjoyed a cold drawn Guinnes. So good. Meeting them was super mellow and speaking German was kind of fun, too. I realized that I spend most of my time here talking in English or Korean, so that chatting with them almost became an obstacle. It was really relaxing to see them again and after a beer, some food and another beer I could already feel a massive buzz. What a great way to see off September this year.
