Today I went to Camden to check out the district I'll be living in for the next twelve months. That's right, I said yes to the place I looked at the day before yesterday. It's an old two-storey flat with no living room, a small kitchen and covered carpet floor throughout the hallways. It doesn't sound too luxurious, but I think that's exactly what I liked about it. It's not too fancy. Important is that the bathrooms are clean and the bedrooms are spacious and bright.
Mine comes with a laminate floor, a big window, a desk and a chair, a double bed, a built-in wardrobe and an extra hanger. I even have a little bedside table and a laundry dryer construction to leave in front of the radiator. If you ask me, that's even more than anyone could ask for. It's all about the possibilities you see in such a place and what you finally do with it to make it your home. It's like an exciting project and this room is my studio. I wish I could go crazy on the rest of the flat, too.
The 214 took me right into the heart of the hood. I walked around the main streets, spotted supermarkets and other important things like the post office, banks and nice places to eat out. I found a nice coffee shop close to Mornington Crescent Station where I took a break. I ordered a coffee and a pastry snack, got a seat outside and observed the scenery. It was great to just sit there and watch the streets, the people, the huge junction in front of me. It was relaxing and inspiring, and I feel like Camden was a good choice.
