A few days ago P
told me about a project that was coming up at work. He asked me if I wouldn't
want to send him a cv and he would see what he could do. Good old P, helping me
out all the time. I checked my backup files and found one that said 'curriculum
vitae'. I double-klicked it and found myself puzzled by the list of names and dates that display what I've done so far. Not because it was so much - it isn't - but because it's basically my life on paper.
After correcting a few things, like my current adress and phone number, I sent it off, still thinking about my modest accomplishments. Another couple of days after that my mobile suddenly rang and I saw an unknown number on the display. I picked up and a nice lady voice told me who she was and why she was calling. She offered me to be part of a group of interpreters for a four-day project, which turned out to be the 100% Design Exhibition in Earl's Court.
Of course I said yes and was glad to receive more details on the job via email. Yesterday the first meeting took place and I had to prepare. Everyone is assigned to a booth on the Korean Complex where a number of different companies and individuals are presenting their works. The fair is a massive happening with super creative work from all over the world. There's furniture and fabrics, plates and patterns. Frankly, I didn't even know about this before, but it's definitely worth checking out.
