Today I wanted to go to Chungcheon and attend the Green Groove Festival with the Kadence Brothers and Friends, but things didn't work out. I need more time. Seoul is a city that is always moving. You can't stand still and just do nothing, because then life happens without you. And I think that's what people mean when they talk about the energy of a metropolis. It's absolutely motivating and that's definitely a good thing, but it can also be very very tiring.
In the afternoon I met my little cousins and took them to Mr. Pizza. Originally I wanted to take them to see our grandma in Suwon, but again, things didn't work out. So I ended up treating them to a snack of their choice and they picked pizza. It's amazing how they put super Korean food on top of a pizza and sell it for an insanely expensive price. Afterwards we went to the nearby Kyobo Mungo and checked out some books. I told them to pick one each and they handed me a novel and a guide to master job interviews.
In the evening I met up with Giwoun hyung and a friend of his called Mira for dinner. She brought along two friends whose name I've forgot and we had soy sauce and garlic pork barbeque plus beer and soju. It was fun to talk lots of German again and it reminded me of what I would be facing after the weekend again. Our next stop was Hongdae's main gate, where we met Mana, Jumi, Jiyoung and Dongmin hyung. Jeune was around too, but he was busy looking for a spot to park his ride.
Next was a bar called Bbok, a nice place not too fancy that serves all you need to get drunk fast. We were already a lot of people, but soon Jonas hyung was coming and finally Hyunchul hyung, his girlfriend and a friend of hers joined our set of tables as well. We became a massive group and it wasn't easy to keep everyone involved without clustering into little groups. It was a super mellow drinking session though and I heard nobody complaining.
We went on to a remarkably fun place called Ska. It's a bar where people can dance, too, and it's the only club-like place that I don't mind going to. What makes it different to other clubs is that you don't go there to mix and match with other people. Actually it might be just us who's different, but every time we went to Ska it turned into an outstanding experience that would stay on my mind for a long time. The tunes they play are an important factor, but what's definitely crucial is the people you're with. Good times guaranteed.
