Friends up North

A few months ago Tobs and Björn asked me if I wanted to join them and a few others on a trip to the north of Germany. Björn was going back home to celebrate his birthday and take a couple of days off work. I said I wasn't sure, but if no obstacles came up I would definitely want to be a part of it. Time passed and I didn't think about it much, even travelled to Korea and back. Suddenly the day came and I was stuck in the wheels of everyday life at home. I had to cancel on my friends.

They left yesterday after Tobs got off work. It was him and Björn, then Robbi, a super nice guy from town, and Lukas, a friend of Björn's from Vienna. While I was at home working, they had left for the Hansestadt in two different cars and in the evening they told me about all the fun they had. I mean, of course they did, because the crew was a bunch of fun guys. They went out for drinks at night, and if you know what Hamburg City is like, then you'll already know that they came back in the morning of the next day.

As for me I was doing alright at home, working on things, taking care of stuff, doing some research. And then it suddenly hit me. Things were getting too much, I had to leave. So I called up Tobs and quickly set up a plan. I stuffed a few clothes in a bag, packed my computer, grabbed some cash and left for the train station. I caught the last train to Köln at eleven, got there about an hour later and waited at a burger joint for my connecting train at two. I got a seat and soon fell asleep.
