Things to buy in a 편의점*

I went to the Rewe in our town's finest, the Veybach Center, the other day. Really, just for the sake of being there. I grabbed one of the red plastic baskets you get provided with by the shop and went passed the vegetables and fruits near the entrance. Until recently I didn't realize that I did, but I discovered that I like the feeling that you get when you walk into a supermarked and see all the categorized stuff. Neatly stacked and consumer-friendlyly arranged, row after row.

Back home I had a few drinks and thought about market psychology and product placement and stuff like that, which somehow lead to questioning my own behaviour as a consumer and then differences between German and Korean supermarkets and their Produktpalette, and then ultimately to this top five of things to get in a Korean convenient store. So, here it is.

1. Cash
2. Twix
3. Let's Be (only if it's really well heated)
4. Hoegaarden
5. Jinro Red Wine

* 편의점 (pyun ui jom) is the Korean way of convenient store
