Ulsan - Day 1

Travelling on a sunny Saturday afternoon can be difficult. Tickets need to be bought, reservations to be made, multiple factors to be considered prior to departure. That's especially the case in a city like Seoul, where everybody more or less thinks the same way. And despite all that, Sumin and I just went to the station and hoped for the best.

Our destination was Ulsan, our means of transportation the highspeed train that has never let us down. Following our routine, we purchased our tickets, filled the remaining time with snacks and coffee, and talked about what to do when we got there. The ride took us about two hours. We read a little, wrote a little, and before we knew it we had arrived.

A limousine bus took us to a part of the city where Sumin knew her way around. Another bus ride and we found our way to the sea. We got off and saw a forest of tents in front of us, like a plantation of damaged souls, seeking outdoor refuge from the giant moloch that eats up their instinctive impulses of being human. It happens, everyday.
