I've been living by myself since I was a twenty-one, I've housed in six different apartments in three different countries, and I've had that many or maybe even more different diets. I remember that my first place had a huge fridge that held mainly water, kimchi and strawberry jam. My second fridge I owned in Germany. It was a small built-in fridge with an even smaller built-in freezer compartment. That's where I stored various boxes of oven pizza.
In London I shared a fridge with three other parties and since the kitchen was constantly occupied by either one of the two evil and insane Indian girls, I spent as little time in there as possible. For a year or so I existed on ready-to-eat salads, cookies and whatever the school canteen had to offer. Now I live more comfortably, with a kitchen partition and a small but proud refrigerator that is hungrier than I am. Here's my top five things to find in the fridge.

1. Eggs
2. Sliced Cheese
