September One Two One Two

A new month, a new start. Quite meaningful even, because in a few days I'm going to put an end to this cruel thesis, and with that end my freedom begins. It's going to be glorious on all kinds of levels. First of all, skateboarding is going to be a bigger part of my everyday life again. Finally. I've been waiting for too long to say this, but this time it's real. Amazing times lie ahead of me. Days of ambition, days of growth, days of inner balance.

And how appropriate to start this month of change and progress with a fest, a celebration second to none. Last night we had a Daily Grind meeting in Apgujeong. It was of massive importance for the smooth operation of the planned skate event. We discussed the last bits and pieces and went over the whole thing one last time. Everything seemed ready, tomorrow may have come. Then, after the meeting was done, Yangsoo and I drove over to Itaewon.

I saw the poster a few weeks ago, and last night was finally the night. Dj Mitsu the Beats, from the Jazzy Sports Crew in Japan, live and exclusively for no more than a hundred people. It was a risky bet, to go with no reservation, but I was lucky. I paid the fee, which was probably the reason for my luck, and waited with my friends till two. Dj Smood finished his awesome set and stepped aside for the main act. A moment of silence, then boom bap, and suddenly it was September.
