Pick Your Neighbourhood

One of those things when moving to a new place is finding a new home. It's a monumental task, perhaps the most important of all. Your crib is where you want to spend most of your quiet time, it's essential that you feel utmost comfortable, that you're able to let your guards down. There's a number of different categories and according subcategories when it comes to the question of how you want to live.

But before that, you have to find the right location that suits your preferences, and also meets your budget. This city has many different areas, but unlike London, for example, where rent is so expensive that living by yourself is basically unthinkable, Seoul has definitely affordable corners. Some of them you don't really want to live in, but if you know your way around you can find mellow neighbourhoods here and there.

I had my eye on Hannam-dong and the Jongno region, pretty much in the centre of the city, leaning towards the northern part. There's Chungmuro with its old cinemas, Euljiro with its street businesses, there's Kwanghwamun with its financial district, and there's Dongdaemun with its shopping centres and markets. And once you've set your mind on a location, you can actually start looking for available units.
