People in Uniforms

Even though I stopped reading it, I have to say that Lord of the Flies left a certain impact on me. I mean, a lot of things make me think about a lot of other things, but the story of those kids on the island, trying to form a social structure and everything, it made me think about my own little world. About my position in the big picture, about my future tasks and stuff.

Different jobs come with different uniforms. For many jobs it doesn't matter what you wear, I guess. For instance, if you have a telephone answering job or a radio station job it probably won't matter much what you wear. But for many other occupations there's a mandatory dress code. The royal mail delivery guy, for example, always wears a red polo shirt.

And there are plenty of those. Of course, there are the obvious suit and tie sort of jobs, but them I don't really consider much these days. What makes me wonder are the construction site people in their bright yellow vests and boots, the coffee shop girls in their black t-shirts and aprons, the delivery guys in their beige chinos and short sleeve shirts. They're always smiling.
