Styles on a Skateboard

There are tons of reasons and means to go out and be active, productive, creative. Some people do music, they sing or make beats or play instruments; others do art, they paint or take photos or build installments. And, well, I like to grab my board and go skate. Preferably by day and outside. I don't know, I'm not much of a park skater, I guess. I don't like transitions too much. I like handrails. Naa, that's a lie. I've actually never tried to skate one, but handrails scare me. No. I like pushing the streets. Feel the cracks in the ground, be part of the city.

People understand skateboarding in lots of different ways. For example, some skaters look at pictures and watch video parts and count stairs, while other skaters prefer tricks of technical difficulty. And don't get me wrong, if Andrew frontside flips a huge set of stairs or if Daewon flips in and flips out of a switch nosegrind, I will definitely rewind and try to follow. But I think what I have my eye on most is style. Man, there are so many amazing styles in skateboarding, and to pick only five for this post took me three days. But at the end, this is what I boiled it down to. (click name to watch)
