One thing I still struggle with sometimes is the traffic noises from outside. Even with my window shut the sound of engines and sirens, all those sirens, is not always easy to cope with. I wonder what they're all for. I mean, there's always a siren going off somewhere. A break of ten minutes is a break of immense silence, and frankly I find it hard to believe that there's really always something going on. Dealing with traffic jams could be one possibility, of course, but I hope that's not what it is.
Other than that there's nothing to complain about. And why complain in the first place? There's too much good stuff out there to be thankful for. The buses for example. There's a fantastic bus system running all through the city, even at night. Basically you can always get around taking the tube, which due to unpredictable maintenance services is oftentimes necessary. Apart from walking or buying a bike, taking the bus is probably the best thing you can do to get to places here.
Or the food. People always say there's nothing to eat in London, but I totally disagree. There's so much to eat on every corner, I rather find myself indecisive what to have. Such a vast variety of gastronomic goodness. Compared to Germany the selection of sandwiches alone is massive. Ham and cheese, BLT, chicken and salad, chicken salad, an endless choice of bready triangled meals. But the restaurants and bistros, the cafés and street stands, that's where the real action is. And I'm sure that someday I will try them all.
