From time to time something completely meaningless happens, that will get you upset. Things that frankly aren't even worth to discuss. For example, when I was walking from the bank to the health insurence headquarters today I wanted some coffee for the walk. I dropped by Bäckerei Voigt, ordered a coffee to go and a minute later the woman clerk handed me a hot paper cup. The brew was alright, but it was the container that got to me. It had a red plastic lid.
You might ask yourself what the big deal is (don't I like the color red, or do I hate plastic caps?) and you're absolutely right. There is no big deal, it was just an ordinary plastic lid for a paper cup. Usually I don't mind the color red, not at all. I even own a red colored hat, a pair of blue shoes with red laces. But somehow that red mouthpiece of the otherwise very neutrally colored baverage cup I disliked. Running around with it annoyed me for no other reason and naturally the coffee that it contained didn't please me, either.
I still don't know why I got so upset about a meaningless piece of red plastic that only lasted for a few minutes, before it ended up in the trash bin anyway, but now I find it quite amusing. Thing is, there's always going to be red plastic lids. If I don't stress about it, everything is fine and I can use that energy in other ways. It's an exciting time and I should try to enjoy it. I have a strong feeling that this month is going to be very hectic and rich in events. Things are going to change.
