Today I had a few more viewings on my list. Originally it was four of them, but then a text arrived me saying that one of the rooms was gone now. It's crazy how quickly they go here, there's almost no time to think things over. So, that left me with three other places. The first one was in Whitechapel. I walked to Kings Cross Station and enjoyed the fresh London breeze outside, kicking millions of leaves from here to there. I took the Hammersmith & City line and found my way to the adress previously given to me by a realestate agent called Juli.
When I arrived there were three other people already waiting in front of the building. The flat looked nice, an ex-council building not too far from the main street, but the room was quite small with no room for a desk. I said no, but Juli was nice enough to show me another one of her properties in Mile End. We took the tube and she told me about this part of the city and also bits and pieces about her interesting self. The room, however, was really good. It was so spacious that it had three wardrobes. I found that quite intriguing, because I would easily be able to fill them, and left the viewing with a pretty good feeling.
Since my second appointment got irrelevant, I took the time to test my possible future commute to school. I took the Central Line and travelled six stations to Holborn, which is close to Russell Square. It took me about twenty minutes and when I got off I felt like taking a break to calculate a few things, so got a little snack: Original Glazed doughnuts and some nice hot Coffee. I thought about having to take the tube everyday, about the costs and the time lost underground. I still wasn't sure. Soon I walked on to Goodge Street and took the Northern Line to Camden Town for my next viewing.
When I arrived I was running a little late and I had to run, wich was a shame because I wanted to check out the area a little. Even more so, because I was told that Camden was really nice. But I had to postpone the slender for another time. I found the house and was welcomed by a really nice couple called Joe and Nat. It was a two-storey flat with a big living room on the ground floor and three upstairs bedrooms. Different to the other places, I really got to say hello to the tenants. We had a nice chat and it didn't even feel so much like an interview.
At the end I went to a place in Caledonian Street, a really nice area with loads of little shops and restaurants. On my way I thought about the two already super good houses I've seen, both of them had their pros and cons, but I was somehow leaning towards the flat share in Camden. It's nice to be living with nice people. Plus, Camdon, so I hear, is a great place to live in and also much closer to school, probably even walking distance. I had so many figures and numbers in my head that I almost missed my stop.
I got out, into the rain, and had to call Rowan, the guy from the ad, because the description he gave me before was just worthless. He directed me to the flat and I felt uncomfortable the second I stepped through the door. I walked passed the seating area and didn't like the kitchen corner. The room upstairs was much smaller than I'd expected. The floor was an old carpet, the matress was shit, the curtains were torn and there was no desk. I thanked Rowan for the viewing and lied to him that I would think about it. A light rain was covering the world, but for some reason I didn't mind. To be honest, I actually enjoyed it a little.
